BHEL wins Rs 132 cr NTPC order for solar plants

The Electronics Division of Bharat Heavy Electricals (BHEL) has bagged turnkey orders valued at Rs 132 crore from the National Thermal Power Corporation (NTPC) for commissioning two grid interactive solar power plants of 10 mw each. The plants will be commissioned at Unchahar in Uttar Pradesh and Talcher in Orissa, say recent media reports.

BHEL postpones delivery of power equipment

Delivery of power equipment worth Rs 600 crore has been put off by the Bharat Heavy Electricals (BHEL) because of sluggish demand. The company's Executive Director-EDN, KC Ramamurthy said that due to sluggish economy, severe cash crunch to complete the project and non-availability of coal to run or to start power plants, many private power producers have sought postponement of equipment delivery.
